  14. SUBJECT: New Amateur Radio Callsign for CA State OES
  15.  
  16.      Effective 0600 hours this date, the callsign at State OES
  17. Headquarters is W6SIG. W6SIG was the call at the Sacramento Army
  18. Depot since 1946.   The Federal Communications Commission
  19. recognizes the outstanding record of W6SIG in support of public
  20. service. With the closing of the Army Depot, the call W6SIG will
  21. live on in continued service to the people of California. This
  22. was made possible through the efforts, cooperation, and support
  23. of the Commission and W6SIG trustee General Jimmie Felts, W6RQO.
  24. Retired U.S. Air Force Brigadier General Felts is a very active
  25. volunteer in the State Auxiliary Communications Service.
  26. Dedicated Amateur Radio operators have operated the State Radio
  27. Amateur Civil Emergency Service program at the Governor's Office
  28. of Emergency Services since 1950. Today, it is more active than
  29. ever.
